Proudly Supporting the Global Braille Literacy Campaign
Dot Inc, is proud announce we are a Platinum Sponsor of the Global Braille Literacy Campaign, launching on World Braille Day, January 4th, 2026, led by the World Blind Union (WBU) and International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI). This campaign is a major global effort to expand access to braille, strengthen braille education and amplify advocacy worldwide.
What is the campaign?
The campaign will run across 2026–2027, focusing on practical actions:
• Expanding information and access to braille resources and technologies
• Amplifying global advocacy and awareness
• Supporting research to inform policy and investment
• Enabling participation from low-resource regions.
Why this matters to Dot customers
If you use Dot’s products and services, whether you’re a braille reader, a parent, a teacher of learners with visual impairment, a rehabilitation professional, a library, or an organisation, this campaign directly supports the world you rely on.
Here’s what stronger global braille literacy work means for you:
• More confident braille users: When braille teaching is consistent and widely available, more people can fully benefit from modern braille technology; at school, at work, and in everyday life.
• A bigger ecosystem of content and practice: The campaign’s emphasis on resources, information sharing, and technology access helps grow the supply of braille materials and the demand for braille reading - both essential for long-term progress.
• Stronger advocacy = better access: Global advocacy and research can translate into improved procurement, funding, teacher training, and national commitments, especially in regions where access remains unequal.
• More equitable impact worldwide: The campaign explicitly aims to enable participation from low-resource regions, helping to close the gap between what’s possible and what’s currently available for many learners and adults.
Our commitment
Supporting this campaign, and its message of “More Braille More Empowerment”, strongly aligns with our values and with our own 2026 focus, “Dots Change Lives.”
At Dot, we believe that all blind and low vision people should have access to braille and tactile resources. Braille is fundamental to building literacy, opening pathways to education and employment, and supporting full participation in society. We also believe that reading by touch and technology are strongest when they work together, and that everyone deserves access to reading in a form they can truly use.
Through the Global Braille Literacy Campaign, we are proud to stand alongside braille readers, families, educators, advocates and technologists around the world. By working together as a global community, we believe we can raise awareness of the importance of braille and help achieve a more literate, inclusive future for blind and low vision people everywhere.
