Using JAWS with Dot Pad: PowerPoint and Split Braille
Following our Back to School webinar in August, Dot Inc. hosted a second session with Elizabeth Whitaker from Vispero to explore how JAWS works with Dot Pad, including Microsoft PowerPoint and JAWS Split Braille.
For Braille users working with digital information, having more than one line of Braille available can provide additional context and make it easier to compare and organise information. Dot Pad combines multiline Braille with tactile graphics, providing access to information across a larger tactile display.
JAWS and Dot Pad for PowerPoint
The webinar demonstrates how JAWS can be used with Dot Pad when working with Microsoft PowerPoint, including how information can be accessed using the multiline Braille display.
This can be particularly useful when working with presentations where information is structured across slides, text and other content. Dot Pad provides space to access more Braille information at once, supporting a more efficient way of navigating and working with digital content.
Exploring JAWS Split Braille
Split Braille allows different types of Braille information to be displayed simultaneously. For example, contracted and uncontracted Braille can be displayed at the same time, providing additional context without requiring the user to switch between different views.
With Dot Pad's multiline Braille display, information can also be organised across multiple lines, making it possible to compare information and understand relationships between different pieces of content.
