We are proud to announce a new strategic partnership between Google Asia Pacific and Dot Inc. to advance inclusive digital education for blind and low-vision learners around the world.
Together with Google for Education, we are working to ensure that every student can learn equally through both touch and sight.
At the heart of this partnership is the Dot Pad — the world’s first large-scale tactile display for real-time graphics. Dot Pad converts not only braille text but also images, charts, diagrams, and maps into touchable tactile graphics, enabling students to explore educational content more independently than ever before.
As part of this collaboration, Dot Pad will be integrated with the Google Chromebook, already used by millions of students globally. This brings hands-on access to digital graphics into both special and mainstream classrooms — transforming what was once “assistive technology” into an AI-powered learning companion.
“Our mission at Google for Education is to ensure every student can learn equally,”
— Tim Paolini, Special Projects Lead, Google for Education
“This collaboration with Google is not only about accessibility. It’s about changing the future of education and opening new doors for millions of learners.”
— Eric Ju Yoon Kim, CEO, Dot Inc.
With the partnership extending across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), this initiative sets a new global benchmark for inclusive education — underpinned by Dot’s previous work with leading institutions such as the University of Oxford, Boston University, and NIT Meghalaya (India).
This is only the beginning. "This collaboration with Google is not only about accessibility. It's about changing the future of education and opening new doors for millions of learners," Eric Ju Yoon Kim.
